From 31 March 2025, businesses in England, bar micro businesses (less than 10 full-time employees) including hospitals and schools, will be required to separate their recyclable materials from general waste. This new waste management legislation is designed to increase recycling rates and reduce waste to landfill as a result.
The new legislation requires specific waste streams:
Mixed recycling- Includes recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals
General waste/non-recyclables- Includes all items that cannot be recycled in the mixed recycling waste stream
Food waste
It will become mandatory to also collect recyclable plastic films by 31st March 2027.
To simplify mixed recycling and enable employees to comply with the new legislations we can provide the new Procycle Recycling Bins.
A modular recycling bin with a range of back panel designs to simplify your recycling needs and includes connectors to build your own multi-recycling stations. Made from hardwearing and robust polypropylene, the bins are available with colour coded back panels for glass bottles & jars, food tins & drinks cans, mixed card, food waste, plastic packaging, general waste, and mixed recycling.
Using the Procycle Recycling Bins can make the recycling process simpler and achieve greater accuracy in waste disposal for your site.
